The Three Websites That I Used For My Research Are:
Holocaust Memorial Museum
This website is credible as it is a ".org", and it is the official website of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum. It also has the contact information for the museum located at the bottom of the page.
Holocaust Memorial & Resource Education
This site includes the ".org" extension, so it is considered credible. It is the official website of the Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center of Florida. At the bottom of the page, it also includes a phone number which you can use to contact the museum, and the address of the museum.
Wikipedia
This website is credible because it has the date that the information was updated and published, which was only a few days ago. This shows that the information is recent and accurate. Also, the website includes contact information, and a long list of sources and links that work.
What I Learned!
Website #1 states that Jews did try to resist, but they were up against impossible odds. Many efforts to revolt failed due to the Jew's inability to obtain weapons, and other resources(Website #1). They were also paralyzed by fear. There was an overwhelming amount of Germans who were heavily armed, so the Jews' odds of resisting successfully were low(Website #1). The Jewish people carried out resistance acts in the ghettos, concentration camps, and the killing centers(Website #1).
Website #2 suggests that Jews trying to resist was a suicide wish. The Germans greatly outnumbered the Jewish people, and they lacked any good resources. With survival unlikely anyways, many Jews chose resistance as the manner of death(Website #2). There wasn't just violent resistance though, as Jews would also smuggle food and information into the concentration camps and the ghettos. This type of resistance is called "indirect resistance"(Website #2). An example of "direct resistance" was the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, "sabotaging" during labor projects, and fighting as "Jewish Partisans"(Website #2).
To say that the Jewish people didn't try to resist would be false. Like website #1 and 2, website #3 states that the overwhelming amount of Germans made it hard for the Jews to revolt successfully, but they did try. "To die with dignity was a form of resistance. To resist demoralizing, brutalizing force of evil, to refuse to be reduced to the level of animals, to live through torment, to outlive tormentors, these too were acts of resistance." (Website #3). In the ghettos, there were many forms of uprisings took place in the concentration camps such as Treblinka, Sobibor, and Auschwitz. Many uprisings took place in Nazi Occupied Germany, but not all were successful. Some Jewish people didn't care if they died, as long as they did fighting back and dying with dignity(Website #3).
